About
“We stand up for human artists and the music they create, and for the people who listen to it, who have every right to know where it comes from.”

Why VERIMUSIC
Since 2025, and increasingly in 2026, major streaming platforms have been sorting music according to how it was made. Some label it, others keep it out of their recommendations, and a few distributors block it before it is even released. These decisions are usually made without artists knowing what they are based on or where to turn to challenge them, and VERIMUSIC grew out of that observation.
We document how AI-generated music is detected, flagged and handled by platforms and distributors, and what this means for human artists. The site includes a manifesto that anyone can sign, an observatory of disputed decisions and a monthly news review. It also provides reference material on platform rules, standards and regulation, and detectors, as well as an artist's guide and a glossary.
VERIMUSIC is on the side of human artists, the music they create and the people who listen to it, without campaigning against artificial intelligence.
Our method
We give every fact we report a date and a source, and when something cannot be verified, we say so rather than leave it out. We quote the platforms' figures as they announce them, which does not stop us from asking what they measure. When an error is reported to us and proves genuine, we correct it publicly and change the page's last-updated date.
We ask that every artist be able to state whether and how they used AI in their work, and that requirement applies to us first. In the manifesto's terms, our texts and visuals are AI-assisted, prepared with those tools and then read, corrected and approved by Adel Hendaoui, who runs the project and answers for them, while the music in our videos is composed and played by him, with no AI involved.
Who is behind VERIMUSIC
VERIMUSIC is run in a personal capacity by its founder, Adel Hendaoui, a musician and composer with a PhD in Information Systems. Since 2025, VERIMUSIC has been developing a method and a protocol for documenting the human provenance of a musical work, and it has committed to publishing both under an open licence.
Independence
VERIMUSIC is funded by its founder, with no advertising revenue. It receives no funding from platforms, distributors or detector makers, and none of its content is sponsored. Should it ever offer services, they would be announced publicly and kept separate from its editorial content and from the observatory.
